PDF Ops

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

The short version

PDF Ops is a browser-based utility. For the vast majority of operations, your files never leave your device — they are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We do not create user accounts, we do not store documents, and we do not sell your data.

File handling

Client-side tools (Merge, Split, Reorder, Remove Pages, Rotate, Sign, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, Protect & Unlock): All processing happens in your browser. Your files are never transmitted to any server. PDF Ops has no technical ability to access, read, or store these files.

Server-side compression: When you use the Compress PDF tool with a file larger than 30 MB, the file is temporarily transmitted to our server for processing. The file is automatically deleted within 60 seconds of your download completing — and in most cases, immediately after the response is sent. We do not read, analyze, log, or retain the content of your files.

No user accounts

PDF Ops does not require or offer user accounts. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information.

Analytics

We use standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics or Cloudflare Analytics) to understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, which tools are most popular and how many visitors we receive. This data is anonymized and does not include the content of any files you process.

Advertising

PDF Ops is supported by display advertising. Ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies. PDF Ops participates in the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can manage your ad preferences through your browser settings or the consent management platform displayed on the site.

Cookies

PDF Ops itself does not set any first-party cookies for functional purposes. Cookies present on the site are set by analytics and advertising partners as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of PDF Ops after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
